Recovering Zotero Library

Is it possible to recover a Zotero library from the Zotero server?

This is a question that would come into play if a catastrophe happens and the Zotero library files are lost and the only trace of a Zotero library would be the one that is synched onto the Zotero server.

    In general, yes. If you also want the attached files you need to use File syncing (either through Zotero or a WebDav) as well.

    That said, while the online copy can save you in case of a disaster, I'd strongly recommend having a secondary back-up, e.g. to a local harddisk.

    I do have a backup, but backups have been known to fail.

    Is there any documentation on how to use File synch from the Zotero server? I haven't seen anything like that, but maybe I'm missing something?

    Also, sorry, whats a WebDav?

    I already have 5 GB of storage and my files are backed up on the server as it turns out. Just in case, how would I transfer all this (my Zotero library complete with files, etc.) back to my computer if need be?

    In most cases (e.g. to restore your files to a new computer/HD) just syncing will do.
    With complicated issues ask for advice.
