Searching for 'Attachment file type - is not - PDF' error

Dear all,

when i search in advanced search the library for "Attachment file type - is not - PDF", Zotero outputs all the entries, including the ones with links to PDF file.
Is there a way to search only for files without links to PDF files? Or my only option is searching for ATTACHED PDF files?

    have you tried playing with the "include parent item" option? I haven't tested this, but may be worth at try.

    Thanks a lot, it almost solved my problem, it restricted the earch results, but the search keep returning the references that have Notes or Links to webpage attached. Only the displaying characters titles of Notes and Links are black, the title and PDFs attached are grey, so I think the search is considering these attachments.
    I tried adding a condition to the search: "Attachment file type - is not - Web Page", but it stills returns the references with webpages.
    Any ideas?

    also check "show only top level items" - at least in zotero 3.0 that works.

    sorry my query was so dumb.
    it works fine now. I dont know what happened, I had tried checking and unchecking those boxes before and nothing changed then.
    I consider it solved and it could be removed from the forum.
