Exporting citation from JSTOR to Zotero
Hello,
I am familiarized with EndNote but now a new Zotero user.
In libraries like Jstor I just clicked to "RIS file" and EndNote imported the file. I couldn't do the same with Zotero. Even selecting "open with" and browsing to Zotero, the data doesn't appear inside Zotero (even the system mentions that the download is done). For instance, follow a link to where I am trying export to Zotero:
http://www.jstor.org/action/exportSingleCitation?singleCitation=true&suffix=10.1641%2FB580107
I am using Zotero in Firefox and Standalone. Is there any way to export the "RIS file" direct to Zotero?
Thanks in advance,
Cadu

For JSTOR (and most other databases) use the Zotero item in the URL bar.
No need to navigate to the export page etc.
If you're using Zotero in Firefox with Standalone closed, Zotero has an option in the preferences (general tab) to automatically import RIS/Refer data - opening or downloading an RIS file will then import it into Zotero (in most cases - it need to be served with a correct mime-type. I'm pretty sure JSTOR does this).
If you're using Standalone with a connector you don't have that option. You can still download the RIS and import it from within Standalone, but obviously that's clumsy. Which brings us back to the recommendation to use the URL bar icon.
Piece of cake export citation to Zotero.
Great experience!
