"directory not found"

I have been trying to get my standalone up and running on a new laptop (Macbook air) and have had to start over with the syncing twice this week. Twice when I've opened Zotero I get a message which says something along the lines of "directory could not be found." (I can't really see the message since it is protruding out of the top left corner of the screen and I can't move it.) The first time it happened I clicked "OK" and then restarted Zotero and indicated the directory that it said it couldn't find. After getting multiple syncing errors today I just received the same "directory could not be found" error. Can you help me with getting past this issue?
