Cannot update text of group description

I want to update an old group which has been in place since a year ago. I can invite students to join, but cannot update the description of the group or add an additional email to my profile. I have a lot going on in my many groups. The group is Race and the Law in Maryland. Why am I having so many update, access, and file creation problems with this group?

    You'd have to be more specific about what you're trying to do and what's happening. Note that group metadata can be edited only on the website.

    I have discovered the 'bug'. I was editing the meta data on the web site, but your instructions fail to tell me not to use a colon in the title of the group. Originally when I set up the group the colon was accepted. Now it is not. When I changed the title to use a hypen, it was accepted.

    I am attempting to manage several research groups at present and am forced to use more than one gmail account to do so to speed up communication with the central server among the group and me (having multiple groups under one user name and password on my part seems to slow down the process of communicating among all among all of us.

    Are you still having problems with the time it takes to Sync with the central servers?

    I'm not aware of any such restriction, but it's certainly possible. Ideally you would get a helpful error message in that case, though.

    No. Most syncs should be very quick. There was, however, a rare problem with syncing of some users' libraries for the past five hours or so. It's been resolved.

    The next version of Zotero after 3.0 will sync libraries independently, which should reduce the impact of belonging to many groups.
