Zotero can't i.d. "August"

Hi--I've got a strange glitch: any time I enter a document whose creation date includes August as the month, zotero only recognizes the year and mis-sorts the document as a result. For example, my documents for 1960 start with one dated "August 3, 1960," (zotero only recognizes yd for it) which is followed by appropriately sorted documents from March, April, May, etc. through to the end of the year. I've tried entering the month in alpha and numerical forms but zotero doesn't recognize either. Any ways to fix this?
