Numeric instead of Roman numeral citation?

Hello. I am using Chicago Manual of Style (Note without Bibliography), and I am trying – without success – to figure out how to get Zotero to use numeric numbering for in-text citations instead of Roman numerals.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks in advance.
  • that's a setting in your word processor not in Zotero so that's the place to look.
Maybe if you say which one you're using someone will be able to help you here - but this is principally Zotero support, so no guarantees.
  • If the footnote numbers are coming out as roman numerals, it's likely that would be an issue with Word, not Zotero.
  • Belated Thanks! You are both correct: This was easily fixed directly in MS Word. I sincerely appreciate your assistance.

How did you fix it - can't seem to find where to go in Word.
  • you'd have to say which Word version more specifically (my guess would be if you google your word version with something like "footnotes roman numbers" you'll likely get an answer, too)
  • Thanks - Office 11 on a Mac. Not too thrilled with the interface but I found it.
  • If anyone is wondering still about this question, you have to change this in Word>References>Footnote Style: https://asklib.hks.harvard.edu/faq/124831
