duplicates list not updated automatically?
Hello,
after using zotero for a while, populating it etc, it finally occured to me to check if I have any duplicates that I have classified in different subcollections. I clicked on the 'Duplicate Items' on the left and located 5 pairs. Each of those entries has an attached file to it from the local filesystem. I right click on a pair's two entries separately to show the files on the filesystem.
I delete one of them. Then I proceed to click on the one of the two subcollections that contained the duplicate entry and delete that as well.
When I click back on 'Duplicate Items' the same pair continues to appear even though it shouldn't. Perhaps something gets cached incorrectly????
Thanks,
A.

In any case, that seems an odd way to use the duplicates feature. If the pairs that show up in the Duplicates View are true duplicates, is there a reason why you don't just merge them?
I use the duplicates feature to locate duplicate entries.
Then, independently, I look for those entries under "My Library",
delete one entry of the two in a duplicate pair (along with its associated file system file attached to the entry).
Then after deleting one of the two in a pair, I check the duplicate entries feature again and the pair still appears!
If you really want to do delete instead, have you emptied the trash before re-trying the duplicates view?
I think you're right, I must have done something else, perhaps remove from collection, not delete entry... today it seems to be working correctly...
Thanks to both for your responses!
