Ay, no fair! We want ours too!
I'm working in the field of optics and lasers, and find Zotero a great research tool. Congrats guys and well done. Can't wait for Zotero 1 Final & beyond, especially the shared/remote databases.
In our research group we need to share publications, references and citations, and ideally manage a network repository of downloaded pdf's and other resources (including formatted renaming functions, eg. IEEE JQE ## (##) p###-### (ddmmyyyy).pdf). It will probably be quite some time before Zotero will support a true concurrent multi-user database, but it isn't actually necessary. You actually want your own database on your own computer (to work at home or for personal/other interests), but only sync parts of it every once in a while with a group/network database. This way Zotero wouldn't need a multi-write-access database, but zotero clients could queue up too synchronise one-by-one with the network database.
Zotero's ultimate power is that you collect references and information there where you work, in your browser. Some colleagues I spoke too are reluctant to use a browser plugin to run a database (perhaps the unfounded fear of clearing your internet cache, only to find your database has been cleared too), but once you use it, you can never go back! Zotero is the way information gathering should be done!
Again, well done guys!

Ps. have a look at how open-source "Bibus" implemented links into MsWord and OpenOffice. Based on cutting-n-pasting field-codes, I think...

The only downside is that getting records from Zotero into refbase isn't quite as seamless--you must export to RIS/BibTeX/MODS from Zotero & import that file into refbase.
