Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism

I am having trouble with the citation style for the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. I have downloaded and installed the CSL but it was not the correct format. Then I opened up the CSL file for editing and there is actually no coding information in the file. I wasn't sure if this was a mistake or if I was simply overlooking something. The citation style is given in the following example with the authors names in bold.

1. Binoux M, Hossenlopp P 1986 Insulin-like growth factor (IGF) and IGF-binding proteins: comparison of human serum and lymph. J Clin Endocrinol Metab 67:509-514

Thanks for reading
  • It's a dependent style: http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#dependent-styles

The style it links to is Vancouver.
  • I see that now thanks. The thing is, the Vancouver style is not the same as what is instructed for authors on the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism website. It is supposed to follow the style as listed in my original post. It seems this style should not be linked to Vancouver. Perhaps I should start a new citation style request?
  • Dear All,

I've recently used this style (the latest version from 9/2013) to submit a paper to JCEM. My paper got returned after 10 minutes because JCEM does not allow shortening of author lists by et-al. I tried to fix this issue by changing the et-al counts to 999 in the csl file, but unfortunately the authorlist does not appear in bold after editing the style. I also tried to delete the et-al entries from the file (using the editx xml-editor) , but the result is the same: authorlists are correct in listing all authors but do not appear in bold any more. Can someone help me on this? What's the reason for this bug?

    Regards,

    Robert
  • the problem is that the style was never fixed. See Rintze's linke and provide details about what needs to get fixed or, if the style is hopelessly wrong, request an entirely re-written one.
  • The style is now fixed. The updated version will appear on the repository within 30mins (check the timestamp). Update your copy of the style by clicking "Update Now" in the General tab of the Zotero preferences.

Styles also update automatically within 24hs for Zotero 4.0+
In an existing document, you may have to switch to a different style and back for the changes to take effect once the style is updated.
Any further problems please let us know & thanks for reporting
