just like the bookmark star color changes from white to yellow when added to firefox favourites, the page icon should show the current status of the database. more than often I end up with several occurences of the same article after a long night at the library.
I understand it would have limitations if based on the url itself as articles are duplicated in several different online databases, but that would be better than nothing.
