export a bibliography sorted by keyword

Is there a way to have Zotero export a bibliography sorted by keyword? I can do it from Endnote but haven't been able to on Zotero.

Thanks.
Cynthia
  • no, not possible. You can obviously create multiple bibliographies - one per tag - but not a single bibliography sorted by keyword. What's the use case?
  • Hi Adam (and anyone else). We need a bibliography sorted by keyword (plant name) because we need to export a large number of citations that will then be transferred to our website, with a separate page for each plant. I can’t search each keyword/tag individually because there are too many. We need to update the webpages each year with new information. It’s a clunky way of updating but it’s what we’re stuck with for our current website. An example is at: http://www.cal-ipc.org/ip/management/plant_profiles/Arundo_donax.php.

    This is what I did:
Use the magnifying glass icon to do a search by keyword, publication title, date, etc. It will bring up a subset of references. In the search screen, click on Save Search, name it, and the references will show up in a folder under your Library.

To export: Click the gear icon (little gray wheel) and select Preferences. Select the Export tab. Select an option under Default Output Format to whatever you want (author-date, note, etc.). Go back to your saved search folder and select the reference you want to export by holding Shift key and clicking with the mouse to select multiple references. Use Control-Alt-C to copy and then you will be able to paste them into a Word file or the notepad. They will paste in the output format you selected.
  • I'm not sure I understand why that solution is faster than just searching each tag, click it to filter, and then export, but if you're happy with it that's great.

You could automate the entire process once and for all using the Zotero server API:
