Resolver - how to find out?

Hey there,

I am not really getting along with the world cat registry resolver.
Only findings in libraries far away are brought up while books are available in my home town - even when I set my location correctly.
There is even a collaboration of libraries in my area which has a common search page, so it could be awesome to make use of it.
I just don't know how to find out about the URL of the resolver of that page.

This is the general search page
http://vs13.kobv.de/V?portal=KOBV&institute=KOBV&func=meta-1&mode=advanced

since Berlin is a big city with many libraries and universities I guess it would help quite some people to access the resolver of that collaboration search of the libraries.

thx!
  • Just stumbled across this list with Berlin Libraries, but since I might search in several it would be quite a hassle to change the Resolver URL all the time.

The resolver for the common search of all those libraries on kobv.de would be way nicer!
  • try contacting kobv directly or ask in one of the member libraries.
  • so there is no way figuring it out?

I noticed, that the individual berlin libraries have resolvers related to kobv:

Freie Universität Berlin (KOBV) -- http://sfx.kobv.de/sfx_fub
Humbolt Universität Berlin (KOBV) -- http://sfx.kobv.de/sfx_hub
Technische Universität Berlin (KOBV) -- http://sfx.kobv.de/sfx_tub

so I thought there might be a way to find out what could be the resolver for kobv itself...

Or alternatively - is there by now a way to insert multiple resolvers for lookup?
  • Just found this discussion, asked a guy from the KOBV. here is the solution:

Enter the sfx from technische Uni berlin http://sfx.kobv.de/sfx_tub a page appears, where it says "Recherche in weiteren Berliner/Brandenburger Bibliotheken", klick on the arrow and you are in the KOBV. It's the easiest way to do a resarch like this.
