Data to Determine Subcollection and nesting?
Greetings!
I'm working on a way to import my bookmarks into zotero. Lots of fun! *eye roll*
I've figured the basics of getting them into xml as an ris and/or mods format. Now I'm figuring out the best way to organize the data.
I've got the folder structure in my bookmarks, and trying to figure out how that would best translate to zotero. Perferably the bookmarks folder structure would translate into nested collections. Does mods, ris, or any other bibliographic format have a way to notating heirarchy, as in the collections and nested subcollections? I haven't done a thorough exploration into each format, but I didn't see a way off the bat. If not, then I'll see if I can assign zotero tags based on the bookmarks folder structure.
Cheers!

adamsmithZotero RDF does. RIS definitely doesn't, the others I don't know, but I wouldn't be optimistic.

ajlyonedited November 11, 2011Your browser bookmarks should import properly into Zotero as a browser bookmarks file (.html), with nested folder correctly converted into nested collections.
