LibreOffice plugin installation problem under Ubuntu 11.10

Hello,

I've been trying to install the LibreOffice Zotero plugin, and it failed (both with ZS and with Zotero 2.1 for Firefox ).
The Report is number 680402417
  • I get a message "Installation failed", and "Installation could not be completed because an error occurred. Please ensure that OpenOffice.org is closed, and then restart Firefox." when I try to install it through zotero or firefox. [LibreOffice is indeed closed)
When I try to install it directly via LibreOffice, I get this message : (com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException){{Message = "[JavaVirtualMachine]: An unexpected error occurred while starting Java!", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface)@0}}.
  • First try this:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#installation_error
If that doesn't work, there might be something wrong with your LO java installation.
The default 11.10 set-up should (and does) work, maybe Simon has some pointers how to troubleshoot that more specifically. (anything unusual about your installation of 11.10?)
  • I've tried what you suggest, with no success. The plugin appears as installed.

There's nothing unusual about my 11.10 installation, except that it is installed alongside a 11.04 (in which ZSA and its LibreOffice integration work just fine).
  • alongside you mean as a dual-boot, right? That shouldn't matter. And we're talking Ubuntu, right? - no Xubuntu, Kubuntu etc.?
Let's see what Simon says. (makes me happy to write that every time ;-).
  • Yeah, it is as a dual boot, and I mean plain Ubuntu :)
