Surname (year) versus (Surname, year)

Hi,

Is there an easy way to choose between the two following citation methods?

Surname (year) modelled...
The Earth is round (Surname, year)

Thanks in advance,

Jelmer Oosthoek
  • All styles give you
"The Earth is round (Surname, year)."
    To get
    "Surname (year) modeled..."
type Surname manually and use the suppress author button in the word processor plugin.
  • I use open office and the OO plugin. I can't find a suppress author button here... Is that in the planning?
  • It is there. It is a checkbox located in the bottom of the citation dialog.
  • The Word and Ooo plugins are identical and the feature has existed for years.
    On the image here:

The suppress author button is under the "page" field. This should look similar for you.

If you're using the standalone version of Zotero or the newest beta and your Ooo integration looks entirely different. You can either switch to classic mode in the preferences, or someone else would have to say how to do this (I know it's possible, just never used it).
  • Yes, I've got it to work now, thanks! I use the standalone version and it's easy to get to the classic mode of the plugin yes.
