No Zotero toolbar in Word 2007

I can not find the Zotero toolbar in Word 2007 - I realize this has been discussed here and I've tried to follow suggestions but it still isn't working. I have reinstalled the zotero.dot file and the Firefox Word integration add-on. The zotero.dot is present in the Startup folder and shows as loaded as a template in Word.

Any help would be appreciated!
  • Have you looked in View->Toolbars?
  • Well this is part of the mystery. I haven’t found view -> toolbars. The view tab on the ribbon has nothing about toolbars; and I can’t find how to view or activate toolbars elsewhere.
  • I finally got this to work by putting the Zotero.dot in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12\STARTUP folder.
  • Thanks, gregaforbes - I've been fiddling with it for ages, and this was the only thing that worked for me as well.
  • May I ask you how to do this? How can I put the Zotero.dot in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12\STARTUP folder? I apologise for the question which to you might sound silly.. Thanks
  • I haven't tried myself, but I guess what you do is copy the zotero.dot file from its current location (described here: http://www.zotero.org/support/windows_word_plugin_manual_installation_instructions)the way you would copy any other file (e.g. STRG+C in Windows), then go to the folder where you want it to go and paste it there, the way you would paste any other file (e.g. STRG+V in Windows).

The entire proess seems to be described well under the above link. It is also mentioned there that is important to COPY, rather than simpyl move the file.
