Zotero Chrome Connector icon doesn't show up

The icon does not show up in Chrome. I have seen these threads:

but I do not think that is my problem as when I look up the extension options, it says it is not experiencing error.

Please help me.

    I should be able to at least add it as a webpage, right?

    that site has no Zotero translator --> no URL bar icon.
    You can right-click anywhere in the page and select "add as Zotero item" (or something like that) to add it as a webpage, provided you have Zotero Standalone running.
