google chrome connector

Hello,

I would like to start using zotero now, but I always use google chrome. I have downloaded the connector several times. Zotero works with firefox but not with chrome on my computer. After the installation my computer says, that the zotero icon will appear when the site is compatible. But it never appears. And the zotero icon at the bottom (which always appears with firefox), does not appear with chrome, so I can practically not use it.
Does anybode know how to make the icon appear permanently on chrome?

Best,

Johanna
  • the connectors for chrome and safari only work with either Zotero standalone or with Zotero in Firefox open following these instructions: http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/httpserver_enabled
  • I have this exact problem as well with google chrome. I have downloaded Zotero SA (concurrently open with my browser), downloaded the extension, restarted my browser several times...still no Zotero icon showing up! The extension IS enabled and I am visiting pages which should be compatible e.g. proquest database, journal websites...even their full text pdf. Please help! What else could be wrong??

I would appreciate any new insight =)
  • Is the Zotero connector listed in the Chrome Extensions? (I believe they're in the Tools menu)
If you right-click in any page, do you see the option to "Add Zotero Snapshot"?
Do you get a URL bar icon here:

  • Hi Adam!!

Thanks for your reply. Yes the Zotero Connector is listed. Yes, I see the "add zotero snapshot" when I right click different pages. Unfortunately no, I don't get the URL bar icon when I visit that link.

p.s. wow! you wrote a book!
