Citing complete works within a work by one author

I am unclear on which option in Zotero to choose when citing a complete work within a work by one author. I run into this a lot when citing complete primary sources contained in an anthology, for example. The proper citation should have Author's Name. In Title of the primary source (in italics). Title of the book (in italics), ed. Editor's Name, etc. If I choose to input the item as a book with the title section containing the title of the source and use the series section for the title of the book then it appears in my bibliography without the "In" between primary title and book title. If I input the item as a book section then the primary title is in quotes. Both options leave me having to alter something in my bibliography. Is there another alternative I might be missing?
• I don't think you're missing something, but I also don't understand all you're writing. Could you provide an actual citation as it should look?
• This is how the entry should look:
Themistius. _Περὶ ἀρετῆς_. In _Inedita Syriaca. Eine Sammlung syrischer Ubersetzungen von Schriften griechischer Profanliteratur_, edited by Eduard Sachau, 17-47. Hildesheim: G. Olms, 1968.

This is the output if I use the "Item type: Book" with the title of the volume in the "Series" category.
Themistius. _Περὶ ἀρετῆς_. Edited by Eduard Sachau. _Inedita Syriaca. Eine Sammlung syrischer Ubersetzungen von Schriften griechischer Profanliteratur_. Hildesheim: G. Olms, 1968.

This is the output if I use the "Item type: Book Section"
Themistius. "Περὶ ἀρετῆς." In _Inedita Syriaca. Eine Sammlung syrischer Ubersetzungen von Schriften griechischer Profanliteratur_, edited by Eduard Sachau, 17-47. Hildesheim: G. Olms, 1968.

In either case, I have to go through my bibliography and reformat the entries. I'm guessing the answer to my question is simply, that Zotero does not accommodate type of bibliographic entry. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
• It's not, but I also can't find a reference to this in the Chicago Manual of style.
The closest I see is 14.114
14.114Book-length work within a book

If the cited part of a book would normally be italicized if published alone (see 8.161, 8.181), it too may be italicized.

3. Thomas Bernard, _A Party for Boris_, in _Histrionics: Three Plays_, trans. Peter K. Jansen and Kenneth Northcott (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1990).
But that's a "may" rule. My recommmendation would be to use the book section item type and put the original title in italic tags: and . That way the only manual editing left to do are the quotation marks. For obvious reasons, these type of "may" rules can't really be complied with automatically, so yes, you're left with manual editing.
• Yeah, it would just be nice if Zotero accommodated this. Chicago 14.114 looks like exactly the issue. The "may" issue isn't important in so far as it suggest 'may not' as well. Why there is no way to input something without the quotation marks, I don't know? Thanks for your help though.
