sqlite odbc connection: empty table list

After installing "sqliteodbc.exe" I am trying to connect via linked tables from MS Access to "c:\users\<user>\Appdata\...\zotero.sql" but the MS Access wizard for connecting linked Tables to an ODBC-Source gives me an empty table list.
However zotero.sql is not empty and has considerable size. One collection was created and has synced successfully over 2 remote computers.
What do I do wrong?

    Connecting works if Firefox is not running. The problem seems to be the file handle. Further comments are appreciated.

    that makes sense, Zotero locks the mysql. Please post technical questions to the zotero dev list,
    groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev
    where it would likely help if you described in some more detail what you're trying to achieve. For most purposese going through the API is preferable to the sql.
