Web of Science translator fail

I see that there is a known translator issue. I updated my translators. I couldn't figure out how to "save the script" to my translators folder.
I am trying to support Zotero for my campus but I can't not have Web of Science unavailable for Zotero. Is there a solution that works? The message I get is: "An error occurred while saving this item, Check known translator issues." Once I check and see that there is a know issue, then what.

I just want it to work.
  • There are still some issues that I haven't worked out yet. Apparently things should work if you do your search within "All Databases" instead of in WoS in particular. When I get the chance, I'll try to make the translator more reliable. It's also possible to save the ISI formatted references and use Zotero's import function to add them.
  • ajlyon,
I tried the "all databases" tab and still - problematic. Hanging lag time and then it imported all 1900-something items into my Zotero folder. Would not import from an individual record without the error message re: translator. Here is a Jing of it in Web of Science and then with the all databases tab switch: http://screencast.com/t/zWkSotq2ATC
  • Sorry about the 1900-item import. I'm working on the translator and hope to get a new version out as soon as I finish my current travels, in a few days. I'll post here when new versions are available.
  • I have the same problem and found an efficient work around. Just mark the citations. Then export the marked list. This usually works. I have found, though, that some citations will not export. Those I have to manually save as a text file in WOS and then import in Zotero. Actually, just exporting a text file of the whole marked list and then importing it into Zotero doesn't take that much time.
