Springer Translator

Hi-
Before upgrading to 2.1.8, I'm pretty sure I didn't have any translator problems with Springer Link journals (e.g., Journal of Computer Supported Cooperative Work), but now for some reason there are. I use Springer journals quite a bit. Does anyone know if this translator issue will be fixed, etc soon? I'm a big fan of Zotero and prefer it immensely over other tools, e.g., RefWorks. Thanks.

  • I think Springer has resorted to the DOI for a long time - that sometimes works, but sometimes doesn't but just to be safe, could you provide a sample URL?

    Sure
    http://www.springerlink.com.ezaccess.libraries.psu.edu/content/2qn8456r2021xw26/fulltext.html

    Or link to non-full-text
    http://www.springerlink.com/content/704v711gu56k25p6/
  • Those work in the new beta - it's probably just a small translator update that's not yet included in 2.1.8 (will be in 2.1.9)
    You can save this file:
    https://github.com/ajlyon/translators/raw/master/DOI.js
to the translator directory in the zotero data folder
    http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data
replacing the existing file and this should start working again.
  • The Beta works great. Thanks!
(No luck when replacing the existing translator file, so I'll just use Beta/Zotero everywhere until the new update to the Fx extension.)
