Can't Sync after adding Paper with a lot of authors - ID 1686336024

After adding a paper with a lot of authors and having FireFox several times requesting to cancel a script called "text.xml", I can not sync any more with the Zotero server.

The papers I've added via DOI are:
10.1103/PhysRevD.79.022001
and
10.1103/PhysRevD.80.042003
  • Dear Dan Stillman,

I read those guide lines and I'm sorry, that the Report ID did not show up here but got truncated in the title.

    Steps to reproduce:
Add one of the papers mentioned above via the DOI lookup utility. After processing (which sometimes causes a script called text.xml:34 to "timeout"), a red exclamation mark appears left to the sync icon.

    Happens:
    Every time.

    Details:
The error message right after adding one of the papers referenced above via DOI lookup sais:

"Error processing uploaded data (Report ID: 52b531ac)"

    ReportID: 1801769608

This time Firefox did not ask whether I want to continue or kill the script text.xml:34

    Cheers
  • OK, thanks. It's the ~450 authors on that first article that are causing the timeout and the sync error. The latter is probably a Firefox bug, but we'll see what we can do about the first. If possible, delete that item for now and empty your trash, and you should be able to sync. You can try adding it back and syncing again, but you'll still get the delay for now in any case.
  • I've worked around the Firefox bug causing the syncing issue, so the fix for that will be in 3.0b2 (and 2.1.9).

We'll follow up on the other issue here: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6929/crash-when-loading-really-large-author-list/#Item_14
