No save upon tab closure

I have edited a snapshot with marking and comments. Upon closing the tab, all changes are not saved. The workaround is to make a new item of the edited snapshot, but it's not handy. This seems to be a recurring problem (previous post 'Erratic saving'). Am I missing something essential?
