PDF MetaData Not Working

I have an extensive collection of books in PDF format that have been downloaded from Google Books. When I retrieve the meta data, EVERY book is listed as a journal, the title is ALWAYS "The Jukes 1915," and the copyright year is always 2009. Every item has to be hand modified. And once the meta data is retrieved, you end up with an entry and a sub-entry. But there doesn't appear to be a way to hand enter the data and then attach the PDF. You add the PDF, then create the entry.

    You can create a new item and the attach the pdf (the green plus sign).

    The issue with retrieve metadata you are seeing is that Zotero's search algorithm is picking up the text in google books copyright description - this needs to be addressed, but until it is, retrieve metadata is useless for google books.

    And please don't use all caps in forum posts.

    Caps were used for emphasis, not shouting. Are you the moderator?

    You may find it easier to just re-download the items from Google Books -- Zotero supports one-click downloading from it -- then dragging your PDF onto the item.
