Word Plugin does not indicate pages in bibliography

Hello everybody!

Zotero and Word are working very good together, but there is something that is still uncomprehensible for me. Maybe one of you might know an answer to my problem. Maybe I am already making a mistake when chossing a citation, so here is how I proceed:

1. I add a Book etc. to my database.
2. Then I cite it in my text, using the IEEE style.
3. When choosing the source from the database, I always type the pagenumber on the bottom right of the form which pops up.
4. After confirmation everything is fine with the citation in the text and the source automatically shows up in the Bibliography section of the document.

PROBLEM: Only the page numbers, from which I have been citing are missing! Why?

I have already switched my citation style from IEEE to other ones that should indicate the pages but that doesn't work either.

What am I doing wrong, what might solve the problem?

I would be very thankful to every answer!

  • Have you found an answer for this yet??
  • Bibliographies in Zotero never include page numbers input in the word plugin.
By definition, a bibliography includes the full bibliographic reference and not a pointer to a specific page. I know there are some (very few) style requirements that want you to do that - I doubt that Zotero will ever support it.
  • What do these styles do if there are multiple references? Do the page references accumulate in some way, or do they cut a separate item entry for each reference? If the latter, it could be implemented as a note style, with the "bibliography" shifted to endnotes in the work processor settings. If the former, what adamsmith said.
  • The styles I have seen do the former - i.e. they are numerical styles, where the same number may occur multiple times in a single document to point to a single references. They _also_ sometimes specify a page or page range in the bibliography. It's bizarre and, for good reason, pretty rare.
  • Yes, that seems pretty useless as a referencing mechanism, and would be difficult to implement. Might as well just add the pinpoints by hand in that case.
