Tag & Inadvertent deletion of cite?

Hi-
I was doing some searching via tags and while clicking tags in the tag search box, one of my cites seems to have been deleted. Is this possible? It doesn't seem like the system would allow a user to delete an entry just by clicking tags or the display tags button. Thanks.
