questions about the Turabian and Chicago author-date style

Hopefully someone can help me out. I have been trying for hours to create a bibliography using the Turabian Author-Date Format. I installed this style from zotero 2.1.8 and I also updated to the most recent plugin.

When I create the citation, it only gives me the Authors last name and year ex: (Johnson 2008). This is fine for a parenthetical citation but I need a full reference list from the source ex: (Johnson, Jake. 2008. Guns, germs, and steel. New York: W. W. Norton and Company) The Chicago Style Author-Date Format does the same thing.

However before I installed the reference style, it allowed me to see a preview of it. In the preview for both Turabian Author-Date Format and Chicago Author-Date Format, the full reference is given. However, when I select this style in the plug-in, it only gives me the Author and date.

What I'm I doing wrong? I cannot switch to another style and the other styles are different than this, for example most have the date at the end of the reference not after the author's name.

Thank you
  • In the word processor, click on the spot where you want the reference list, then find the button (to the right of the button you used to insert the cite) that looks like a little bibliography list, and says "Insert Blbliography" (?) when you roll over it with the mouse. Click on the button, and you should have your reference list.
