Visualization of Data Sources Plugin

I think it would be useful to run an analysis on the data sources cited within a paper or stored within the database. I am thinking a chart that displays x% cited documents are interviews, x% are statutes, x% are books, etc. Then another chart that shows percentages from the publisher field. I am thinking this would be useful primarily when working with teams because it is a quick (and dirty) way to see if someone within in the team is having difficulty researching, needs to use more sources, etc. It also may be a good way to identify stellar researchers.

Technical Aspects:
I believe this can all be done with a little bit of javascript, an xslt transformation (using xml as the output), and using another open source project XML/SWF charts (http://www.maani.us/xml_charts/index.php) for rendering.

Anyone have any ideas on this?
