VUE integration: will it ever get updated for new versions of FF?

I have been looking at VUE, a visualization/mapping program that integrates with Zotero, but it seems that the plug-in for Zotero integration (and/or the Applet) has not been updated since FireFox 3. This is a giant bummer, because from all reports the two programs worked splendidly together. Anyone know better than I when/if there will be an update, or if there is another option out there that does what VUE does and integrates with Zotero?

I'd be skeptical about an update at this point - the project seems dormant - though I believe VUE was open-source, too, so someone could adopt it. Best I know there is currently no alternative that integrates with Zotero.
