advanced search missing + and - buttons

I use zotero version 2.1.8, with Mozilla 3.16.18, on Ubuntu linux 10.04. My problem is that the in "advanced search", the plus and minus buttons (next to rearch words window) for adding search creteria have gone missing. That is to say, I can only search for a single criterion. Any solutions?

Same as this? Do they appear when you hover over them?

Thats it, thanks Dan. They don't really become visible even when I hover, but they are there, and if I move around clicking I can get them to work.
