Word plugin - copying references and pasting them to another Word document

In the Word plugin, is it possible to copy a reference and then paste it to another Word document without losing its connection to the zotero database?

(I'm sorry if this topic is duplicated; I've searched extensively through the forum before starting this, but found nothing.)
