Extra fee to purchase storage?

I am trying to purchase 1GB of storage, but when I get to the Google checkout, it says it will charge me $20 plus $21/year starting today. Is this going to cost me $20, $21, or $41 for the first year? What about the 2nd year? Thanks in advance.
  • that's really unfortunate in it's phrasing, but what it means is that you pay 20$ for the first year and then 21$ for subsequent years (starting in June 2012).
I'm not involved in any of this so I can't explain to you why it's phrased like this or why 21$ for following years, but if you uncheck the automatic renewal you'll see just the $20 - the price for one year of storage.
  • Thanks much. That should do the trick.
  • It is unfortunate phrasing, but it comes from following Google's recommended practice for the structure of payment.
