Import problems after attempting to use Standalone Alpha

I've been using 2.1.8 with Firefox, and it has been importing flawlessly from a number of databases. I tried to try out Standalone Alpha with Google Chrome this morning, didn't like it one bit, and switched back to Firefox right away. The problem is, now when I try to click a "Export directly to ProCite, EndNote or Reference Manager" link, the page launches a Save As dialog box instead of offering to import it into Zotero. I deleted all the Standalone files (there was no Uninstall option, so I just wiped those directories); what's the issue and how can I fix it?
Thanks,
Josh
  • are you sure that page worked before? Link? Whether this works on Zotero or not depends on how the site serves that data, I think this is by far the most likely reason this isn't working.
Otherwise, check the "Automatically import Refer/RIS files..." in the general preferences of Zotero (should be checked).
  • Adam--
Yes, definitely. I've probably exported 100 records directly from ProQuest into Zotero in the past few weeks, although I notice that 2.1.8 is new as of Monday, and I last used zotero Monday morning. The "Automatically import" check box was checked. Most definitely a brand new problem.
I'll post the link, but since I'm running through UMIch's proxy, I don't know if it will work.
  • I actually reset the translators, no dice, but then uninstalled and reinstalled the Firefox extension which fixed the issue. I think something changed when I attempted to use Chrome and the Standalone, but now it's fixed, I'm behind in my work, and I've got to get back to it!
    Thanks!
