Using self-defined style
The button of "Suppress Author" is good for people to change style, for example, from "(Smith, 2011)" to " Smith (2011)". But I think it will be more useful to change button "Suppress Author" or add another button named something like "Using self-defined style" under the button of "Suppress Author".
So we define a special style like "author (year)" first, then we press this new button to change "(author, year)" to "author (year)" directly.

adamsmithwe've had this discussion several times and in various forms - the current model has the big advantage of being simple (one button), stable, not rely on custom fiddling and allow switching between styles. I don't really see any willingness to change it. You can spend some time searching the forum for some of the old debates on this.
