Moving library to new computer
Hi,
My previous PC (using an unknown but 2-year old version of Zotero) broke, and I hadn't synced my library. I was able to get to the storage files from my broken computer, but cannot open Firefox from the old drive. I reinstalled the latest version of Zotero on my new computer (also a PC), dragged the previous Zotero storage files into the new Zotero file on my new computer, but am unable to see my library when I open up Zotero now in Firefox. My two questions are:
1. How come I cannot see my library on the new computer? Am I doing this wrong?
2. Are my word documents created with the previous version of Zotero going to be compatible with the new version of Zotero?
Thanks for your help!

This describes how to restore from a backup

the key issue is the zotero.sqlite file - I can't tell from your description whether you're doing this wrong.
Same issue with word documents - in principal they should remain compatible after restoring from a back-up, but a 2 year old version is pretty old...
You could try an itermediate update with an older version of Zotero (e.g. 2.0.9) if this fails with the new version.
