Unfiled Items feature in My Library

Could someone please direct me to documentation, or define and explain what "unfiled items" is, and the purpose of it. When I do a word search, the following "result" comes up. When I click on it, it leads me nowhere:

    Items that aren't in any collection, just in "My Library" are "unfiled" - it had been requested multiple times, it's exact purpose/usage I'd assume depends on the user.

    Not all new features of 2.1 are fully documented yet.
