Saved search with "is not in collection" doesn't seem to work

Hi,

I want to set up a saved search returning all items which are not in the collection "Music". It doesn't work however: it includes all items from "Music". They are greyed out, but they are there. What's not greyed out is their attachments. So I guess the search returns the attachments of all these items because the attachment somehow does not inherit the collection attribute of it's parent.

Is this how it's meant to be? Or am I misunderstanding the situation? It seems enormously counter-intuitive to me, and also unpractical, since I don't want to have these attachments show up in my search.

Is there a workaround?

Thanks,
Matt

OK I just realised that I can tick "Show only top-level items" in the search window to solve the problem.

Nevertheless, it still seems strange that the attachments don't inherit the membership to a collection from their parents.

Indeed, I'm not sure that was intended.
