Informaworld - Angelaki accessed through library proxy
I have a problem with the sitetranslator for Informaworld, e.g. the journal Angelaki. I think it has to do with the way I access the site. When I enter from the institution I am working I get recognized by Informaworld by the IP-Adress and can grab all the required information (although instead of the page range only the first page number is grabed). Unfortunatly my institution has no subscription to Angelaki. Therefor I have to enter trough the page of my home university library. That log-in seems to work through a proxy although zotero does not recognize the proxy as such. The URL looks like this:
http://emedien.sub.uni-hamburg.de/han/8724_0/www.informaworld.com/smpp/title~db=all~content=g937210177
Than I have access to the full-text pdf/html of Angelaki but zotero does not recognize the meta-data and does not grab the pdf automatically. The page is only recognized as a simple webpage.
I tried to manually add zotero a proxy rule by copying the first part of the url into the schema and setting an "%p" after the slash:
Hostname: www.informaworld.com
Schema: http://emedien.sub.uni-hamburg.de/han/8724_0/www.informaworld.com/%p
After that I reloaded the site. As an result at least the meta-date are grabed but not the pdf embeded in the site. And I am not shure, if it will work allways or if the URL in the schema changes on every access provided through the university library.
Is there any more apropriate/comfortable way to solve the problem? I guess a lot of people will have similar problems when entering Informaworld through their library access.
Thanks,
olaf

and I get it as well on the page with one single article:
http://emedien.sub.uni-hamburg.de/han/8724_0/www.informaworld.com/smpp/section?content=a937189237&fulltext=713240928
While with the longer schema the latter page works at least insofar zotero grabs the meta data of the article. Still it does not grab the page range correct, but that seems an error of the filter in general.
Because I had to log in again to the librarys sistem I can at least confirm, that the url seems not to change with every log-in. Still it would be nice, if zotero would be able to grab articles from the list style page and with the respectiv full-text pdf attached.
In general I am not shure if it really is a problem of the proxy schema. Even without a proxy schema I can get through to the site. I just get the error messages "could not retreave information" (something like that in my German translation).
Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/Informaworld.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data). It should start working again. If this works for you, please post here so that I can submit this change to be pushed to all users.
As for the page numbers, Zotero isn't getting them because Informworld isn't providing them in its RIS export. Zotero is seeing:

There should be an
EP
entry with the ending page, and it's missing. Please feel free to contact your librarian or Informaworld representative and have them fix this.On the other hand: still zotero does not grab the pdf files attached to the page (neither in the overview page nor on a single-article site).
As I wanted to test, how the new translator works if I enter Informaworld through my ip-detected access from work, I realised another problem: With the manual proxy-schema set I always enter Informaworld through the university access. That is not in all cases wanted, since with other journals I might have better access/reading rights with my institutional access. Is there a simple way to toggle the proxy-schema on/off? I only found the possibility to delete it or create one from scratch.
informaworld.com/smpp and then turn automatic recognition off.
1. When I set the schema to informaworld/smpp and switch of the whole proxy remembering and detection section it works fine to access informaworld depending on the site from where I enter via the university library or my institutional access.
2. Because I have full-text access through my institution to anglakai for 2007 I could test to grab meta-data and pdf via both accesses. In the case of the ip-controled access it worked fine and the pdf was attached. In the case of the proxy-access the pdf was not attached.
3. I observed another anomality: At the page:
http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/title~db=all~content=g788330388
in the zotero list to pick the items for import the first article in the list, "Transmission working from the collection", is several times repeated in the list and there are several blank items you can select in the list. I do not know if this is a side effect of the patched translator. Or maybe it is just a problem of a bad implemented dataset on behalf of informaworld.
