Says I have reached storage quota but I have not, what should I try

Hello,
I am trying to sync my old computer with the online zotero thing so that I can access my library from the university as well as with my new(er) laptop. This never seems to work, however, and every time I try I get the message below:

"You have reached your Zotero File Storage quota. Some files were not uploaded. Other Zotero data will continue to sync to the server.

See your zotero.org account settings for additional storage options.

6JGKQN2S.zip (1399KB)"

That said, whenever I got to account settings, I am told that I am only using 3.4MB of my 100 MB and I don't really have that much stuff on Zotero on my old computer anyway... Even after having purged the files from my personal library it still does not work. What should I try. Many thanks for any advice.

    note that your data will still sync even if files don't.

    The most likely explanation for the file quota issue is one super-large file (e.g. a movie or so that accidentally landed in your database) or that you're trying to sync files to a group whose owner has exceeded her limit. Try to exclude those possibilities first.

    I have checked My Library on the old computer and there seems to be no large (nor Superlarge) file. Concerning the sync to a group "whose owner has exceeded her limit" I am not exactly sure what you mean by that, as I am trying to sync my old computer with the online library so that I can put all of this data on my new computer. But perhaps I am not understanding you correctly. Many thanks anyhow. That said, what should I try to do now? J.

    The error message tells you the file in question. It's whatever's in the '6JGKQN2S' directory within the 'storage' directory within your Zotero data directory.

    That file is only 1.5MB, though. Are you sure you're syncing from the same account that you're checking on the website?
