Errors were found in the Zotero Database!

Testing the DB integrity from the preference pane returns the aforementioned error.

Zotero seems to work fine though.
Is there anything I can do to find out what's wrong before it stops working?

The error may be caused by the fact that I manually (from the file system) edited/rename or removed attached pdfs, I've done that in the past, but IIRC not on this computer... Not sure in fact

Best regards,
Pierre-Yves
  • You can try the database repair tool:
    http://www.zotero.org/utils/dbfix/
  • I have the same problem, event i reinstall the zotero( and remove the zotero file in the .mozilla), the same error still exist, and I try the link to repire the database, but the error message still show up.

Hope this won't be a serious problem.
    my environment is:
    operation system: ubuntu 7.10(GNU/Linux)
firefox2.0.0.11(installed by Ubuntu default) Triditional Chinese.
  • land,
You may be seeing the spurious error message that seems to occur sometimes on Linux. See the following thread for more information:

  • Unfortunately, I'm getting this error message in the Windows version, and my database is now approximately the maximum size that your web-based tool will accept. The problem that seemed to be causing errors for me with an earlier version seems to have been fixed, so whatever is corrupting the database, it seems to be something new... :(

It seems as though adding the capability to fix the databases errors should be a high priority...
  • In case others haven't seen it, here's an older discussion of these issues with some useful info:
