Zotero slow when adding/editing citations in Ubuntu 10.04

It takes usually some 15 seconds from pressing "add/edit a citation" until the Zotero window opens and even longer when changing a citation style! On a Windows computer it needs less than a second (using the same bibliography, with around 200 titles, so it's not a big bibliography at all). I use the latest Zotero 2.1.5 under Firefox, Zotero OpeOffice.org Integration 3.5a1 and Openoffice 3.2.0. Any ideas how could I fix this?
