Searching the content/metadata of public group libraries

On Mendeley.com there is a "search papers" feature. This feature appears to search the metadata of content in all open group libraries. Zotero doesn't seem to have this capability. I can search or browse for groups, but not the content of group libraries. (Correct?) The ability to search the content of other users' open libraries would be a valuable feature.

Will Zotero be adding this type of functionality (or does it already have it and I'm just not finding it)?
