  • Not yet. The connectors and Zotero Standalone currently work only with Safari and Chrome, but IE was originally planned and it may still be on it's way.

But it's almost certainly not going to be ready by your deadline.
  • Dear Ajlyon,

Thanks a lot for your input and really appreciate that someone at least has replied, do you think that you can suggest a similar tool that i can use in internet explorer.......as i need to gather data for the competitive and market intelligence.

    Awaiting your soonest reply :)

it really depends on what you need - Endnotes, RefWorks, Mendeley, CiteUlike, Citavi
are probably among the most common options. None have scraping capabilities as developed as Zotero.
  • Hi Adam,

As i have been given to compile data for competitive and market intelligence in the oil and gas sector, i need to collect web articles, news , as by the URL Links, source and the date that i have retreived the data country wise and category wise, what would be your suggestion as which design tool that could help me collect data all at one place and the same time have an access database .............but it needs to support the internet explorer.

Appreciate if you could guide me through ............;) apologies if iam troubling you ;)
  • You should harass your IT people to let up on the restriction :-)
  • hehehehh....i guess itz our firm's control processes.thatz keeping my hands tied down badly and i am going crazy if someone can just advise me one reliable tool similar to zotero that i can use in Internet explorer!
  • sorry, you're in the wrong place. The reason we support Zotero is that we don't believe there's a good alternative - and that's especially true for what you're doing. Maybe someone in a more general forum - or in your IT department - will have some ideas.
  • Thanks a lot for your help Adam! :)
  • Does your workplace allow Firefox Portable to be used?

  • Thanks a lot but does zotero run in this portable version toooo.....

Can i save intranet details, reports, articles, word, excel format too in Zotero , while working on both the versions of Mozilla Firefox?
  • Thanks for all your advise;)
  • How can i run reports and capture any excel sheet / word document ..........and can zotero be used to generate reports.......
  • It's not clear what you're asking. The answer to your first question depends on what you mean by "capture". The answer to the second depends on what you mean by "report".
  • Apologies , i want to know whether Zotero can attach any internal /externally obtained excelsheet & word. And can we generate a report based on the information that we have collected.

you can attach any file you want to a Zotero item. And yes, Zotero can generate reports - try the feature out (right click on an item -> generate report) to see if it does what you need.
  • tried to attach a word and excel document and its say format not supported.
    any help!!!
  • to attach a file, drag it to Zotero or, in Zotero, use right-click --> add attachment.

You likely used to "import" feature, which is for bibliographic data.
