Change ciatation style: [] instead of () ?

Hi!
I have been working in the Zotero reference Test pane in order to create my own output style. One thing I wolud like to change is the style of the in text citations from (1) to [1], but am not sure how to do this. Any ideas?

    the respective line usually looks like this
    <layout prefix="(" suffix=")" delimiter="; ">
    change the patentheses to brackets
