My Library Back up - AFTER - Upgrading Mozilla to 4.0

Hello!

I have upgrade my Mozilla browser to 4.0 version, without doing a back up of My Zotero library on my local drive.

Signing at zotero.org with my user & password I can see the most recent captions are saved at the cloud file.

My questions are:

1) Can I make a back up of my library file sitting at the cloud? I would not like to lose data as my last local back up is from 3 months ago..

2) How should I proced to install zotero 2.1 (on Mozilla 4.0), making sure I get my library in the right format onboard?

Thanks!
  • The Zotero 2.1 upgrade process makes an automatic backup of your database in your Zotero data directory.

You can and should, however, always have an up-to-date backup of your entire Zotero data directory, as you would for any important data.
  • Thank you Dan.

In the end I was able to do the whole process
    1) Upgrading Firefox to 4.0 version
    2) Upgrading Zotero to 2.1 version
    3) upgrading Word editor pluging

Thank you for the backup advice, that in the end I did in the middle of the process...

By the way, in order to have frequent bakups (without changing versions). To export Mylibrary should be enough, or you recommend some other way to do it.
  • The page I linked to tells you how to back up. Don't use export.
  • Thanks again. I saw that I have to copy the zotero file then.
