Style request: Drug and Alcohol Dependence

Hi, I would like to submit a request for a style compatible with Drug and Alcohol Dependence (DAD). DAD is a journal published by Elsevier. Its style is included in the EndNote repository but not in Zotero, and I could not find one that exactly matches their requirements.

Similar style: American Journal of Physical Anthropology.

Example for DAD references:
For journal articles: Chutuape, M.A., Katz, E.C., Stitzer, M.L., 2001. Methods for enhancing transition of substance dependent patients from inpatient to outpatient treatment. Drug Alcohol Depend. 61, 137-143.
For book chapters: Smith, S.G., Davis, W.M., 1975. A method for chronic intravenous drug administration in the rat. In: Ehrenpreis, S., Neidle, A. (Eds.), Methods in Narcotics Research. Marcel Dekker, New York, pp. 3-21.

Differences to the American Journal of Physical Anthropology style: In the reference list, there is a comma following the last name of the authors, and a point following each initial. A comma separates the last author from the publication year (instead of a point). Journal title and volume number is followed by a comma (instead of a colon).

Similarities: Within the text they should also be referred to by author surname and year. When referring to a work by more than two authors, the name of the first author should be given followed by et al. Citations to organization reports should spell out the name of the organization. In the References section of the manuscript, they should be listed alphabetically by first author surname and must consist of names and initials of all authors, year (without brackets), title of paper, abbreviated title of journal, volume number and first and last page numbers of the paper.
  • looks very much like Elsevier Harvard from the repository - try that and report back.
  • Oh, you are right! Thanks so much, Adam. I did not realize that when I searched the Zotero style repository.
  • no problem - the structure of the repository doesn't exactly make it easy to find styles.
  • turned out the two styles weren't quite the same, just uploaded the DAD style.
  • Thanks, Adam. Good to know for the next time. Looks like DAD's editors did not notice the difference, because they accepted my last paper in Elsevier style.
