Storing on external hard drive
Hi - I am new to firefox and zotero...very excited to use it. i have a bunch of photos (my dissertation research) on an external hard drive and am going to use zotero to organize them in a searchable database. thing is, i want to link my photos as attachments to each title so that i can view it at will. BUT, i want to keep the photos on the external hard drive (it's a lot of photos)...and therefore i guess i want to keep the entire zotero library on that external device. can someone tell me how to do this? in layman's terms please? thanks so much...

Upgrade Storage
While choosing the location of the database is a planned feature addition, it is only currently storable in the location of the rest of your firefox profile. Your current options are to move the profile to that drive or to install Firefox Portable on the drive.
Using Firefox Portable is really easy & may be best choice if you use the drive on multiple computers.
Then launch Firefox Portable 2.0 & install Zotero as you would for the non-portable edition.
That is:
* Go to the Zotero webpage
* Click Install Zotero
* Click "Edit Options" on the yellow bar which pops up
* Click "Allow" to allow the installation of extensions from the Zotero site
* Click Install Zotero a second time & confirm that you do want to install Zotero
* Once it has installed, restart firefox portable
