Time frame for batch editing?

Does anyone know what the time frame is for batch editing of fields? I keep seeing that it is "in the works," in posts going back as far as four years ago. Any news on this?

    I don't think "In the works" is accurate. It's planned, but at least from what's visible on trac, no one has worked on this.
    Devs have stopped giving timelines for features quite a while ago - when they still did, they were so unreliable as to be useless, so that was imho a good decision - so I wouldn't expect to get something more specific.
